The Aluyan Caduha-an Farmers Association (ACFA) and Tabi Po Foundation have joined forces to embark on a noble mission - the application for the Community Based Forest Management (CBFM) program with the Department of Energy and Natural Resources (DENR) in Cadiz City, Philippines. This venture is aimed at restoring, conserving, and safeguarding the precious North Negros Natural Park (NNNP).

The success of this project hinges on the indigenous knowledge and presence of the ACFA in the upland area at the base of NNNP. While awaiting approval from DENR, I had the pleasure of meeting with the people's organization to present our plan to save the forest reserve. The community responded with an overwhelming enthusiasm, excitement, and unwavering commitment to this cause. They are aware that this is a long-term process, but the benefits they will reap in the years to come are worth the effort.

As we move forward, we plan to launch several livelihood projects that will be meticulously documented every step of the way. The community has witnessed how the damage has unfolded over the years, and now they are prepared to accept the challenge of protecting the forest. Tabi Po Foundation is proud to be their guiding force, providing technical and financial assistance to help launch and sustain the project. Together, we will make a positive impact on the environment and the lives of those who depend on it.
